Las modificaciones que ha estrenado el Toro Rosso STR3 en el Gran Premio de Francia, las mismas que había probado por primera vez en Barcelona la semana pasada, parecen haber dado sus frutos, pues por primera vez en lo que va de temporada, los dos pilotos del equipo capitaneado por Gerhard Berger han pasado a la Q2 en la sesión de entrenamientos oficiales. Además, las diez posiciones que Lewis Hamilton perderá en parrilla respecto a la conseguida hoy con los tiempos –como consecuencia de la penalización impuesta por golpear a Kimi Raikkonen en el Gran Premio de Canadá–, suponen que Sebastian Vettel subirá una posición en parrilla hasta el decimosegundo lugar, mientras que Sébastien Bourdais se quedará decimocuarto, justo por detrás de Hamilton.

La sesión de clasificación de hoy en Magny-Cours ha resultado ser uno de esos momentos que curten el carácter en el equipo Honda Racing F1. Nelson Piquet carried on where Fernando Alonso left off on Friday, making low-fuel runs to set the fastest time for Renault of 1m 15.750s.
