Pacers Will Make Preseason Visit to Fort Wayne

For the first time in 10 years, the Indiana Pacers will play a preseason game in Fort Wayne, an early NBA home and now the host city of the D-League’s Mad Ants. On Oct. 10, Indiana plays Chicago, its first game at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum since facing Toronto in 1998.

Australia Trounces China to Arrange Finals Date with USA

Australia didn’t have injured superstar Penny Taylor for their semi-final against China but they blew out the Olympic hosts anyway 90-56. Taylor sprained her ankle in Australia’s quarter-final demolition of the Czech Republic two days ago but should take the court in the gold medal game against the United States. Without her, Australia still overwhelmed the Chinese with a suffocating defense and great work on the boards.

After receiving U.S. government approval, Iranian center Hamed Ehadadi has been cleared to sign with NBA teams, Yahoo! Sports has learned. The NBA sent out an email to executives late Wednesday afternoon informing its 30 teams they were free to enter into negotiations with the 7-foot-2 Iranian Olympian, as well as one of his teammates on Iran’s national team: guard Mohammadsamad Nik Khahbahrami.
