Following Niger Tornadoes poor start of the 2008/ 2009 Globacom Premier League, Niger state government has given the boot to the team’s management committee. Also fired was chief coach of the team Zakari Baraji who had only spent two months in the club. Niger Tornadoes which also struggled to escape relegation last season had lost three straight matches in the new league season including a defeat to Kaduna United at the Bako Kontagora Memorial stadium on a home ground.
